26′ – As CandyPanda was down in the bot-lane split-pushing, FNC looked to start a team-fight in the mid-lane and catch out nRated and Jesiz falls right after. Tripple kill for Caitlyn as Nidalee takes a kill for herself and FNC destroy the mid inhibitor and return to take the baron out as well. By now, Rekkles and crew are 10k gold ahead and look to close the game.

28′ – CandyPanda gets caught out in the top-lane and meanwhile in the bottom-lane, Soaz gets a kill in a straight up duel against Freddy. As FNC regroup and take 2 more kills, SK pulls the plug and surrenders. FNATIC are the Season 4 Spring Split European Champions. They have done it yet again and have won their 3rd consecutive European split. What a fantastic achievement for Soaz, Cyanide, xPeke, Rekkles and YellowStar! Good luck in Paris guys!

On the blue side, SK ban Lee Sin, Sivir, LeBlanc and pick Shyvana, Xin Zhao, Orianna, Twitch and Karma to try and win their first game in these series against a very sharp FNC, who ban Evelynn, Ziggs, Nidalee and pick Lulu, Kha’zix, Kayle, Lucian and Janna.

SK - FNC Game 3

2′ – FNC try to anticipate a lane switch from SK and rotate their duo in the top-lane only to find Shyvana waiting for them. SK move faster in the split-push fight and get 2 turrets down in the time that it takes FNC to down a single one

15′ – A fight around the FNC blue buff ends in a draw 2-2, as FNC survive the early burst of SK and chase them down, but can not catch them.

17′ – SK return to the enemy blue-buff, trying to steal it, but they end up gifting a kill to FNC

19′ – Following a very bad position from Soaz around the dragon pit, give SK dragon control and a kill on xPeke and CandyPanda and crew carve themselves a 3k gold lead.

SK vs FNC screen shot Game 3

22′ – 2-1 for SK in the bot-lane as CandyPanda and xPeke get it on and call their junglers for help.

25′ – SK Gaming take an uncontested dragon, as FNC were too far to contest it.

26′ – Twitch catches Janna out, assassinates her and SK turn this small advantage into a baron kill and then as Kha’zix and Kayle decide to contest the baron, but end up dying, CandyPanda and crew simply stroll down the mid-lane and get the inhibitor down before finally backing off to spend their money.

29′ – With the baron buff on, SK rotate in the bottom-lane, find themselves 2 kills and close out the game, refusing to lose the series without winning at least one match. A thrilling game 4 awaits us!

FNC – SK (Game 2): Paranoid come-back!

On the blue side, FNC bans Evelynn, Ziggs, Trundle and picks Lulu, Nocturne, Nidalee, Sivir and Morgana. On the purple side, SK ban Lee Sin, Kha’zix, LeBlanc and pick Shyvana, Elise, Ahri, Lucian and Leona.

FNC - SK Game 2

2′ – FNC decides to go for the lane swap, sending their duo in the top-lane, but following a very big misplay from the entire FNC team, SK get 3 early kills. First off, Nocturne decides to help Lulu defend in the bot-lane against the trio of Elise, Leona and Lucian, but the two end up dying both. Meanwhile in the top-lane, Morgana and Sivir try to get a kill on Shyvana, but misplay and give away a kill of their own. Disastrous start for FNC.

5′ – SK get a very early uncontested dragon thanks to Elise’s tanking abilities

11′ – The CS count shows pretty even lanes overall, top 53-62, mid 91-91 and bot 102-82

12′ – SK Gaming secure the 2nd dragon of the game uncontested as FNC is not even close to contest that one

18′ – Third dragon of the game goes down to SK and at this point FNC does not even have the timer for it anymore

19′ – Nocturne helps Lulu get a kill on Trundle in the top-lane and as the rest of SK rush in to help their team-mate, Nidalee takes the mid outer turret down

25′ – Fourth uncontested dragon for SK who solidify their gold lead, which is now up to 4k.

FNC vs SK screen shot Game 2

29′ – SK try to siege the top inner tower of FNC, but their engage falters terribly as Nocturne’s Paranoia causes Ahri to instantly die and the rest of FNC decimate the remaining SK members for a very clear 4-0 win. On the back of this clear victory, FNC down the baron and manage to turn the whole game on it’s head!

31′ – FNC get the first dragon of the game and with the baron buff on, they get down both inner turrets in the mid and bot lane. Rekkles and crew are in the lead for the first time in this game and they do not plan on stoping here.

34′ – ACE for Fnatic after a beautiful flash binding from Morgana to start things off and Nocturne jumped straight on Lucian, rendering him useless in the fight. As the fight went the distance, FNC could out-sustain their opponents and hunt down the remaining members of SK. With the minions in the right place, FNC are able to close out the game and need only one more win to secure themselves the Spring Champion title.

SK – FNC (Game 1): Strong kick-off at level 1

This is it, the Grand Final has begun! On the blue side for the first game, SK Gaming ban Lulu, Leona, Lucian and pick Trundle, Xin Zhao, Orianna, Jinx and Sona. On the purple side, Fnatic ban Evelynn, Ziggs, Nidalee and pick Lee Sin, Kha’zix, LeBlanc, Sivir and Karma.

SK - FNC Game 1

2′ – Both teams want to send their duo in the top-lane, but following  crazy level 1 fight, FB goes to FNC’s Soaz as he delivers the final blow to Sona. In the mid-lane, Kha’zix makes his first visit after stealing the enemy red-buff and due to it finds a kill on Orianna.

6′ – Pretty easy gank for Cyanide in the top-lane due to a very well timed Tether from Karma on Sona, and nRated dies a second time.

9′ – First uncontested dragon goes to FNC, as SK needed 3 people to secure their blue-buff

10′ – FNC find an easy invade at the enemy wraith camp finding Orianna out of position and kill her. Xin Zhao, tried to come and help but died himself, giving LeBlanc a double kill.

12′ – Kha’zix helps Lee Sin get a kill on Trundle in the top-lane, and the duo destroy the top inner tower before recalling. SK reply with the bottom outer turret.

15′ – FNC take the second uncontested drake of the game extending their gold lead to 5k

17′ – In the top-lane, Trundle manages to get a kill on Lee Sin in an 1v1 scenario, Freddy is the only person on SK who can duel his counter-part at this point.

22′ – Third dragon of the game goes to FNC as well, as SK still does not have the timer and is unable to contest it.

25′ – FNC contest the blue-buff from SK and find 2 kills on Xin Zhao and Trundle as the rest of SK are not even close. FNC turn this numerical advantage into an uncontested baron, not giving SK any chance to come back in this game.

FNC vs SK screen shot Game 1

28′ – With the baron buff on, FNC take both the mid and the bot inner turret down and kill the dragon as well to extend their lead to 11k

33′ – SK are too behind and can not contest the baron, who finds a swift death at the hand of FNC and xPeke and crew resume their onslaught

40′ – Not being able to siege any of the turrets with the previous baron buff, FNC had to wait for the next baron to re-spawn before they could have another go at the SK turrets. Thanks to a very opportune split=push from xPeke in the top-lane and a huge amount of burst he can put on Trundle, FNC finally see an opportunity and go for it, managing to get the kill on the troll and break SK’s defenses. First game goes to FNC after a very solid performance from the five amigos.

ROC gets 3rd place

Following two very short games, ROC continues their terror spree and takes out ALL, 2-0. This series had no other incentive than the price money and bragging rights, but the 2 teams put on a very good show. GG and we look forward to seeing both of them in the Summer split.

ALL - ROC Game 1

ROC - ALL Game 2

GMB – CW (Game 3): The unkillable Darien and Alex Ich, the Monstorianna

The final game of the day and the decisive one for both GMB and CW, the winner will secure their spot in the LCS for the next split and the loser will have to go through the Summer Promotion Tournament next week. On the blue side, GMB ban Karma, Jax, Lucian and pick Irelia, Kha’zix, Orianna, Twitch and Nami to face off against CW, who ban Nidalee, Evelynn, Thresh and pick Ryze, Xin Zhao, Twisted Faith, Caitlyn and Morgana. Gambit’s composition is very reminiscent of the one from yesterday when they made a disastrous appearance against ROC, we will see if this game will be any different.

GMB - CW Game 3

1′ – Nami gets caught in her own jungle and gives away FB to the Danes. The CW are the ones who initiate the lane-switch and send their duo in the top-lane, but for once both teams down 2 turrets each in the respective lanes and back off.

6′ – In a 4v4 skirmish in the mid-lane, GMB barely get ahead 1-0 and capitalize on the small win with a very early dragon to get themselves a whooping 100 gold lead 🙂

12′ – The CW bot-lane was a fair amount ahead of their counter-parts and after getting a kill on Nami, they easily take the outer turret down and also manage to take a fair chunk of the inner turret

15′ – GMB manage to take the dragon down before CW could react and in the fight that followed, they also find a kill and as a result of that, get the mid outer turret down.

19′ – CW return to the bot-lane and finally get the inner turret down to secure themselves a small lead in turrets, 5-4

22′ – With a superior vision around the dragon pit, GMB has no trouble securing that objective

25′ – CW get a kill in a very tricky 5v5 skirmish in the river and manage to retreat with blinking hp bars

28′ – Around the dragon pit, Kha’zix jumps inside the enemy team and soaks up all the damage managing to get away with his flash and a slither of hp and the rest of GMB destroy the Wolves thanks to a very good Shockwave from Orianna and the Spray and Pray from Twitch. 4-0 + dragon for GMB and a tripple kill for AlexIch to secure a 4k gold lead for his team.

GMB vs CW screen shot Game 3

33′ – 2-0 for GMB in the mid-lane as it seemed that the Russians were out of position and about to lose their inner tower, but the stealth bomber Twitch delivers the Orianna Shockwave to start off the fight and instantly kill Caitlyn.  On the back of that won team-fight, GMB take down Nashor.

35′ – Another uncontested dragon for GMB, who increase their lead to 8k gold.

37′ – Genja gets caught out in the enemy jungle and as it seemed Darien would also go down, GMB rally together, turn the fight around and manage to ACE the Wolves and get down the top inhibitor.

39′ – Genja goes very aggressive again and dies in a 2v2 battle against Xin Zhao and Ryze, halting GMB’s onslaught.

42′ – Gambit are looking to kill Nashor once again, but as soon as CW decide to contest it, they focus their attention on the Danes and following another 3-0 won team-fight, they rush down the mid-lane and destroy the  inhibitor, before returning to kill off the baron for a commanding 17k gold lead

45′ – With the baron buff on, GMB push down the bot-lane and manage to close out the game, not before getting a 4-0 win over CW and sealing the deal. At the end of a 4 hour thriller, it is Gambit who retains their spot in the LCS and you can’t tell from the expressions of their faces if it is pure joy or just relief for the Russian Overlords, who haven’t been in this position before. Commiserations go out to the Wolves who will have to play next week a best of 5 qualifier against the Challenger team of their choice to stay in the LCS. What a great game it has been at the end of a magnificent day. 10 hours of live LCS broadcast. The action continues tomorrow with the game for the 3rd spot between ALL and ROC and the Grand Final between SK Gaming and Fnatic.

CW – GMB (Game 2): 53 minute Pentakill

On the blue side, CW ban Nidalee, Irelia, Evelynn and pick Ryze, Xin Zhao, Lulu, Varus and Morgana to face off against GMB, on the purple side, who ban Jax, Lucian, Karma and pick Pantheon, Kha’zix, Ziggs, Caitlyn and Thresh.

CW - GMB Game 2

2′ – CW invade the red buff from GMB as both teams rotate their duo in the top-lane

7′ – Double kill for the bot-duo of CW in the top-lane with the help of Xin-Zhao

11′ – Kill in the top-lane for Kha’zix and Pantheon on Ryze and as the duo take the outer turret down, the CW kill the dragon

13′ – Xin Zhao and Ryze tower-dive Pantheon, but they only trade 1-1 as Pantheon manages to get a kill

15′ – Xin Zhao and Ryze try to tower-dive Pantheon one more time, but do not manage to get a kill, instead Darien kills Amazing.

18′ – GMB take the dragon uncontested, as Ryze takes the top outer turret in return

19′ – Cowtard gets caught off in the river and killed by Kha’zix and Pantheon

24′ – With a better position around the dragon pit, CW get a 2-0 win in the skirmish around dragon and down the beast as well to extend their gold lead to 4k

31′ – The next time dragon would re-spawn, GMB would finally manage to win a skirmish, 3-2 because of a very good engage from Diamond and they take the drake plus the mid outer turret down on the back of that small victory

38′ – The game was so incredibly slow paced, that outer turrets were still up around the 30 minute mark and the only action that would happen was around the dragon pit. It was CW’s turn to win this next team-fight, 2-0 andget the drake for themselves to regain their 3k gold lead

44′ – The crowd were on their feet as 44 minutes in CW managed to take down the first inner tower of the game, the bottom one, but because they showed too many people in the bot-lane, GMB took the baron and the dragon in quick succession to restore the balance.

49′ – In an epic skirmish in the mid-lane, GMB take down Ryze, but can not take any objective on the back of that and the rest of CW recall to safety.

Pentakill!

52′ – Another epic skirmish in the mid-lane, in which AlexIch managed to Zhonyas the Varus ultimate and Lulu was forced to use her ultimate to keep Xin Zhao alive and as it seemed that both teams would back off, the CW decide to have a go at baron. GMB interrupts their recalls and contest the baron call. In the fight that followed, CW were not on the same page for a split second and Xin Zhao charged in the enemy team and instantly died, much to the surprise of his team-mates. What followed can not be described in words, but at the end of the skirmish the screen showed 9 letters everyone want to see P-E-N-T-A-K-I-L-L!!! Genja was the lucky receiver of that one despite Darien and Diamond’s best efforts to kill secure. After a 53 minutes slow-paced game, the Russian Overlords manage to down the Nexus and push this series in the decisive 3rd game.
