FNC – CW: Stomp-atic performance

On the blue side, FNC are looking to redeem themselves and avoid a 0-4 super-week performance. They ban out Evelynn, Yasuo, Lulu and pick Shyvana, Elise, LeBlanc, Twitch and Morgana. On the purple side, CW ban Kassadin, Jax, Nidalee and pick Vladimir, Lee Sin, Ziggs, Graves and Leona.

FNC vs CW Champion select

2′ – Fnatic invade the Wolves’ jungle two times and almost walk away with as many kills. The first time, Cowtard needed his ADC to use his summoner Heal to stay alive but the second time, Lee Sin wasn’t that lucky

4′ – Leona dove to deep in his lane and the Wolves wanted to capitalize on it, but following a counter-gank from Cyanide’s Elise, Fnatic find themselves three kills without dying, two of them on Rekkles’ Twitch, making that bot-lane a nightmare for Leona and Graves.

10′ – The CS count shows a massive lead in the top-lane for YoungBuck, 66-96, a smaller one for xPeke in the mid-lane, 75-65 and for Rekkles in the bot-lane, 75-64.

13′ – Fnatic pick themselves up a few kills in the mid and bot-lane and afterwards kill the dragon as well to boost their gold lead to 6k at 14 minutes. That is huge and it will be very hard, if not impossible for the Wolves to come back in this game. It will require a number of mistakes from Fnatic to make that happen.

20′ – The second dragon also goes in favor of Fnatic and afterwards they rotate bot and destroy he inner tower there as well to increase their gold lead even further, it is now at 12k.

FNC vs CW important moment

24′ – Due to better vision in the enemy jungle, Fnatic get a great catch on one of the Wolves and manage to ACE them without losing a single member and take down their mid inhibitor.

26′ – Two minutes later, Twitch finds a pick on Ziggs and simply deletes him from the map in mere seconds and that was the signal that Fnatic needed to take the baron. With the Nashor buff on, they simply pushed down the mid-lane and ended the game after getting a few more kills. Very impressive performance from Fnatic, but it all came from the errors the Wolves did in champion select, at level one and in the beginning of the game. To their credit though, Fnatic did not lose the ability to snow-ball a lead once they were presented with the opportunity to do so. On the other side, the Wolves have some thinking to do after going 1-3 in the super-week. Yes they have two new members, but their mistakes were not really impacted by the two new guys on the block.

GMB – ALL: Unofficial Penta

First game of Day 3 of the Eurpean LCS is the thriller between Gambit and Alliance. Froggen and crew are up 3-1 on the Russians and are looking to keep it that way, while Eddie and crew want to show they are a real contender for the first three spots in Europe. On the blue side, GMB ban Thresh, Leona, Irelia and pick Jax, Evelynn, Yasuo, Lucian and Gragas to face off against ALL, on the purple side, who ban Kayle, Kassadin, Elise and pick Shyvana, Lee Sin, Lulu, Twitch and Morgana.

GMB vs ALL champion select

2′ – ALL go for the lane swap and send their duo in the top-lane in order to delay Jax’ power-spike as much as possible.

3′ – Darien gives away FB to Shook’s Lee Sin as he missteps in the river

10′ – CS count shows even lanes in the top, 38-44 and bottom-lane, 94-92 and a slight advantage for niQ in the mid-lane, 89-76

12′ – Gambit secure themselves the first dragon of the game because Alliance were no where near the pit, despite having full vision of it.

16′ – The two teams have their first brawl in the mid-lane and Alliance barely win that one, 2-1 as both teams retreat to the fountain.

18′ – As the dragon re-spawned, the two teams went to check the pit at the same time and it is Gambit who barely come out ahead this time, 2-1

20′ – Blue buff invade from GMB and they follow that up with a dragon kill as Shyvana was stuck in the top-lane without teleport.

24′ – Alliance organize a death-trap in the baron-bush and while Jax falls for it and dies, he manages to kite them long enough for his team to destroy the mid inner turret. Advantage Gambit.

26′ – After a prolonged fight around the dragon pit and the mid-lane, Alliance find themselves 4 kills, but Gambit secure the dragon. The gold difference between the two teams is below 1k, and there is a ticking time bomb on Alliance’s composition with both Yasuo and Jax scaling immensely.

31′ – After a one minute tango around the mid-lane, the two teams finally square off and due to Shyvana’s tankiness, Alliance manage to come out ahead, 4-1, but their hp bars are so low that they can not continue taking an objective.

GMB vs ALL Important moment

37′ – At the end of a 4 minute baron dance, a skirmish finally breaks out and ALL barely wins it, 2-1 and finally secures the baron and a 4k gold lead, as the rest of Gambit flee to their base.

39′ – As Alliance prepare to siege the top-lane, Gambit are looking to pull of a cheeky maneuver and go for the opposing mid inhibitor turret. They do take it down, but Alliance react very well to it and engage on them with their beefy half-dragon protected by a Lulu shield and a Lulu ultimate. At the end of the skirmish, Wickd and crew come out ahead, 3-1 and take down the enemy mid inhibitor. One minute later, GMB decide to challenge the dragon call of Alliance, but get caught out, chased a bit around for a Quadra Kill on Froggen and an unofficial Penta by the end of the chase. Meanwhile, the super-minions were doing ALL’s bidding and were taking down the Gambit base. Froggen and crew are very happy with this win as they end the week 3-1, while Gambit is now at 1-2 with one more game left to play.

EU LCS: Week 1, Day 2 Recap

 Copenhagen Wolves vs Millenium

CW vs MIL champion select

The Wolves have a stronger early level strategy and are able to get the early lead by destroying the first tower, taking the first and second kill and the first dragon. Their aggressive engages would backfire in the mid-game and  they would end up giving away unnecessary kills. The reminder of the mid-game was all about the Ziggs bombs, when they were accurate, they gave MIL a huge lead in the team-fights, but as soon as Kerp was out of position or did not land perfect ultimates, the Wolves would simply steamroll over their opponents and get clean ACEs left and right. It happened the first time at around 37 minutes, when following a brilliant flanking maneuver from Evelynn, CWdestroy MIL and take themselves a baron and some territorial advantage for their efforts.

Huge difference from the previous fight, where Cowtard’s Yasuo was nowhere to be seen and MIL managed to get a win in the skirmish and took down the mid inhibitor. The second time that MIL would get ACED was following a skirmish in their own jungle after Kottenx got caught. Another clean ACE for CW who pick up their first victory this split.

Alliance vs Supa Hot Crew

ALL vs SHC champion select

Alliance initiated the lane-swap and sent their duo in the top-lane, but the early game was pretty quiet, bar some gank attempts in the mid-lane. It was the first dragon fight at 15 minutes that set the tone for the entire game, in a 4v4 around the dragon pit, SHC came out huge getting themselves 3 kills and killing the beast afterwards. Just like that, Mimer and crew were 2,5k gold ahead and could dictate the pace of the game. Six minutes later, at the next dragon, SHC comes out on top again, winning the skirmish 3-2 and securing the objective one more time.

30 minutes in the game, SHC make a decisive play rushing baron and with Thresh’s ultimate zoning the entire Alliance team out, they actually manage to secure it and after killing Lee Sin, they rush to take down the enemy bottom inhibitor. Mimer and crew could not end the game with the Nashor buff on and were actually over-aggressive when siegeing the enemy base and Alliance capitalized on their mistakes, getting themselves 4 kills and downing the next baron. It was a short-lived comeback though and with a 9k gold lead still in their pockets, SHC managed to win the next team-fight after a very well targeted cocoon on Froggen and end the game inside 41 minutes. Impressive showing from SHC to take down the fan-favorite Alliance team.

SK Gaming vs Copenhagen Wolves

SK vs CW champion select

Early lead for SK Gaming, who played the map a bit better than their opponents and got First Blood, first turret and first dragon of the game. SK’s strength lies in their mid-game rotations and getting so far ahead out of the laning phase could only spell disaster for the opposition. By the 20 minute mark, CandyPanda and crew were up 12k gold and the blood-bath would soon come to an end as SK Gaming does not mess around and finished the game in just under 24 minutes. By the end of it all, the scoreboard showed 21-3 and a 20k gold advantage in favor of SK. This was one of very few games where the CW were not able to get an early lead and they just crumbled under the pressure and made on strategic error after the other.

SK vs CW item buildsSupa Hot Crew vs Roccat

SHC vs ROC Champion select

Standard 1v1 and 2v2 lanes for the two teams and a pretty uneventful laning phase, except for Overpow getting a solo kill on Selfie. That, combined with the bot-lane’s early dominance ensured a small advantage for the Poles going into the mid-game, which they have successfully turned into a bigger advantage in the mid-game by securing the first tower, the first dragon and a couple more kills.

First baron attempt was done at 30 minutes, but despite a prolonged team-fight, that ended in a draw, 3-3, neither of the teams manage to kill Nashor. A second attempt by ROC, 5 minutes later, would back-fire horribly as they lose the skirmish, 1-4 and SHC would end up getting the baron. With the baron buff on, Impaler and crew take out all the inner turrets and after being down 3k gold, they are now up 6k gold. What a huge turnaround! Having superior vision control in the enemy jungle, SHC find themselves two picks and end the game, going 2-0 on the day.

ALL – FNC: Hooked on a win

The last game of the day is of course a big one, between two of the biggest teams in Europe, xPeke’s Fnatic and Froggen’s Alliance. On the blue side, ALL ban Elise, LeBlanc, Leona and pick Shyvana, Evelynn, Lulu, Kog’maw and Thresh.  On the purple side, FNC ban Ziggs, Kassadin, Twitch and pick Jax, Lee Sin, Twisted Faith, Lucian and Morgana.

ALL vs FNC champion select

2′ – It’s FNC who initiate the lane-swap moving their duo-bot in the top-lane

3′ – xPeke decides to stay in the lane with 20% hp and no flash from a previous gank from Shook’s Evelynn and ends up paying the ultimate price, dying to the hate spikes of Evelynn, who burned her Flash for the kill

5′ – Evelynn returns to the mid-lane and secures another kill on Twisted Faith for his team.

9′ – ALL capitalize on their early aggression with a dragon kill and boost their gold lead to 3k

11′ – Alliance are a bit too aggressive in the mid-lane and end up paying with their lives for it, Froggen and Shook died to the trio of Morgana, Lucian and Twisted Faith

13′ – CS count shows a huge difference between the two top-laners, 78-41, an even fight in the mid-lane, 104-109 and a small advantage for Lucian in the bot-lane, 115-129. Alliance did a very good job of starving Jax in the early game.

15′ – FNC find a kill on Evelynn who was out of position right as the dragon was about to respawn and secure that objective uncontested. Meanwhile, ALL down the last outer turret of FNC and are now up 4 turrets to 0.

21′ – Third dragon of the game goes to Alliance, uncontested, as Soaz did not have is teleport up and Yellowstar got caught out and was forced to back out.

24′ – A great hook from Nyph’s Thresh on Twisted Faith is the catalyst for the next team-fight, which ALL have no problem winning, 3-1 and they capitalize on it by slaying Nashor.

ALL vs FNC important moment

26′ – With the baron buff on, Alliance have no issues in destroying the last two inner turrets and taking the dragon before retreating with a 6k gold lead to their base.

30′ – The first Fnatic inhibitor goes down in the bot lane as they can not do anything to prevent it from happening, because Jax was split-pushing in the top-lane without having his teleport up.

34′ – With the superior vision control around the baron pit, Alliance get themselves an easy Baron, while Jax kept split-pushing in the bottom lane and actually got the inner tower down. Having the numbers advantage, Froggen and crew push down the mid-lane, get two kills thanks in part to yet another great hook from Nyph, destroy the inhibitor, score another kill on xPeke and end the game in style. Despite their earlier lackluster performance, Alliance have managed to reset and focus for the second game of the day and took down Fnatic convincingly. On the other side, Soaz and crew are now 0-2 after facing their two big rivals, SK and ALL and are looking to mend some fences tomorrow in the last day of the super-week.

SK – GMB: The come-back was almost real

First game of Day 2 features SK Gaming versus Gambit Gaming. On the blue side, SK want to prove that the victory against FNC yesterday was not an accident, ban Thresh, Trundle, Kassadin and pick Aatrox, Lee Sin, Yasuo, Vayne and Morgana. On the other side, Gambit want to forget yesterday’s disappointing start as fast as possible, ban Leona, Twitch, Jax and pick Irelia, Evelynn, Kayle, Lucian and Gragas.

SK vs GMB champion select

2′ – Standard 1v1 and 2v2 lanes for both teams. A bit surprising that SK decided to not go for 1v2 lanes to give Vayne a safe laning phase.

6′ – CandyPanda and nRated are getting pushed out of the lane

9′ – GMB want to capitalize on the dominance of their bot-lane and start the dragon, but SK try to contest it and in the skirmish that resulted from it, SK give up first and second blood without getting anything in return.

10′ – CS count shows a clear dominance from Freddy in the top-lane,93 – 77, an even fight in the mid-lane 79-86 and Genja being miles ahead of the opposition down in the bot-lane, 51-81

11′ – SK secure the top outer tower after a kill on Irelia, but GMB reply by killing the dragon.

15′ – Freddy keeps up the pressure in the top-lane and as a result of another gank, SK take down the inner tower as well

16′ – GMB group as 5 in the mid-lane, take the outer turret down and find a kill on Aatrox

17′ – Second dragon of the game goes to GMB as well, as SK did not fancy contesting it, thus giving the Russians a 3.5k gold lead.

24′ – Third dragon also goes in favor of GMB, while SK seem a bit disorientated. After securing the objective, GMB venture into the enemy jungle and find themselves two more picks which allows them to get both turrets down in the mid-lane, only an exposed inhibitor now left for SK.

SK vs GMB important moment

27′ – GMB are on fire and due to better vision, they are able to take advantage of every positional mistake from SK and they find one more kill in the bot-lane on Morgana as Aatrox ran for his life and finally managed to suicide without giving up a kill. The Russians immediately rush for the baron, but SK were looking to contest it. That decision proved to be another wrong one, as GMB easily secured themselves two more kills and the baron buff and are now 8k gold ahead.

28′ – With the baron buff on, GMB have no trouble getting the top outer and inner turrets down, before rotating to the mid-lane and destroying the exposed inhibitor. As SK make an attempt to stop them, Morgana dies and that meant that the Russians could take the top inhibitor tower and the inhibitor itself down as well. On their way back to the base, GMB secure another dragon, boosting their gold lead to 12k.

32′ – GMB have their eyes set on the bot-lane and are determined to get that inhibitor tower down as well before closing out the game, but SK had other plans. As GMB engaged on them, a very nice Last Breath from Yasuo catches Lucian who almost instantly goes down and SK manage to 4-0 their opponents. Mind-blowing start to what looks like a great come-back. Sadly for SK though, they lost both their Nexus turrets to the super-minions.

35′ – Following another skirmish, this time in the mid-lane, SK find themselves 3 kills for 0 and take the baron down as well. The come-back looks real. Sadly for CandyPanda and crew, they can only down the bot inhibitor tower while having the baron buff on,as there is still a 9k gold lead for GMB and SK Gaming does not have the confidence to tower-dive them.

37′ – Dragon for SK, who manage to reduce the gold difference to 8k.

43′ – Baron was up again and the two teams begin the dance anew. The inevitable team-fight occurs and SK win it barely, 3-2 because Yasuo’s Last Breath only caught Edward this time and they could not blow up a target instantly, which was what guaranteed them the victory in the previous skirmishes. With 3 people up, SK attempt the baron but the 2 remaining Gambit players contest it and manage to ACE the opposition, even though Lee Sin took the baron with his dying breath. But these were big death timers and GMB were trying to end the game. It was only CandyPanda and Nyph alive for SK and while they did manage to kill Darien, they both died to Genja and GMB finishes the game. What a spectacular thriller! There were many mistakes on both sides and this is what made the game so spectacular, but if GMB ever needed a win, it was today and it doesn’t matter as much how they obtained it, but the fact that they did. On the other side, CandyPanda and crew looked devastated as they almost came back into this after being so far behind, but failed due to small mistakes here and there.
